Prologue

Life is a journey. This is all we know about it. We do not truly know the starting point of this journey for where do we choose? Do we choose the point at which we are simply an idea in the mind of the creator? Or perhaps we choose the point at which we begin to grow in the wombs of our mothers? Birth is a good place to start but that seems a bit false.

What about the end of the journey? Do we say death? That would mean that we assume it all ends with our last breath which I proudly argue is far from the truth. And if we believe in an afterlife that spans for eternity then it means there is no destination just a continuous journey. Therefore, only one thing is known for certain, we are on a journey, and every decision we make counts as a step along the road.

We can choose the steps we take, and even choose the paths we take through life. However, our options are limited especially at the beginning of our life. The roads available are already preordained, set to lead us to an expected end. Most people take the route life sets before them.

However, there are some of us who decide to get off the road and venture into the jungle. There are those of us who cut through the thick forests of ignorance and uncertainty without blades of curiosity and determination. With these tools, we create a new path, our own path, and forge our destiny.

However, this is easier said than done. It is easy to wish to be a trailblazer, but most difficult especially if your starting point is in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. I am Idham  Bashir, and this is my story.
